Weekly Holiday is a Bangladeshi periodical established by Enayetullah Khan on 1 August 1965 with considerable political influence in the late 1960s and the early 1970s.[1] The weekly was known to be against the Pakistani regime. During the reign of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman the magazine was often very critical of the government.[2] It was banned for a short time in 1975.[3] Its circulation declined significantly in later times.[1]
On birth, it had only eight pages which doubled in 2001 to include its expanded interest in issues outside politics, including culture, the internet, and heritage. It also publishes two monthly supplements - Aviatour, a tabloid on aviation and tourism, and Slate, a colored light-reading magazine.[1]
